Let´s have some short insight on Istanbul* – Istanbul is a city in Eurasia, straddling the Bosporus strait (which separates Europe and Asia) between the Sea of Marmara and the Black Sea. Istanbul, earlier Byzantium, later Constantinople, served as an imperial capital for almost 16 centuries and became one of the most important cities in history. With a total population of around 15 million residents in its metropolitan area, Istanbul is one of the world’s most populous cities and the largest European city.

The city held the strategic position between the Black Sea and the Mediterranean. It was also on the historic Silk Road. It controlled rail networks between the Balkans and the Middle East and was the only sea route between the Black Sea and the Mediterranean. In 1923, after the Turkish War of Independence, Ankara was chosen as the new Turkish capital, and the city’s name was changed to Istanbul (*the source – Wikipedia).

Thank so much for this article on hostels in Istanbul! Istanbul is on my list eventually but not for a while, but I love learning about the different places to stay and their amenities so I an compare in other countries as well. The breakfast at the Bauhaus sounds amazing! But I also love the look of the beds at the Archeo. I know prices are ever-changing, but would you consider maybe even splitting them into categories of $ $$ and $$$ (cheap, mid-range, and expensive) so we could get an idea of price range without having to look at each one individually?

Instabul is one of the cities that I would really like to visit mostly because of the Hagia Sophia church that is obviously the main attraction of the city but also because of the local food that they say is very characteristic of that area. Plenty of options you are providing and I can see a couple of them that seem really nice. I will bookmark this in case i decide to go in the near future. Thank you very much!
